Dear Readers:
It has been a very busy month in Antigua with its two biggest regattas of the year now behind us. This issue is a tribute to Antigua Sailing Week 2012 which has been dubbed a resounding success. Being personally involved in the organisation of the event, I am delighted that the feedback has been so positive. We don’t yet have everything exactly right, but the sailors left Antigua with the message that Antigua Sailing Week is now THE regatta on the Caribbean circuit and we hope they will share that message with their friends and other sailors everywhere they go.
In this issue we share the press releases and video coverage of the event as well as links to the final results. But to start it off, we have included other yachting stories that you will find of interest.
As we move into the next few months, the summer season becomes dominated by the Antigua and Barbuda Sport Fishing Tournament, weekly racing in Jolly Harbour and great charter and training opportunities. In the next issue we will focus on the many opportunities available in the yachting industry in Antigua during the summer months. If you have a business or interest that you would like us to mention, please send us your stories for inclusion. We must continue to spread the word that Antigua is a wonderful place to visit, no matter what the season. It has 365 beaches – one for every day of the year – and endless activities and attractions that operate year round.
I wish everyone a smooth transition into a great summer season!
