The Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships (Perth 2011) today announced it has secured a major commercial coup, with QBE Insurance Australia (QBE), part of Australia’s largest international insurance and reinsurance group, signing on as a Gold Level Commercial Partner for the Event.
As an Olympic Qualifying Event, Perth 2011 will see the world’s best sailors competing in the waters off Perth, Western Australia, with the dream of sailing at the 2012 London Olympic Games Sailing Regatta. Perth 2011 will involve over 4,000 athletes, officials and support personnel from 80 nations, 1,000 volunteers, 950 competitor boats, 250 coach boats, and 120 management and official boats.
Perth 2011 Director of Commercial Operations Darren Beazley welcomed today’s announcement, saying that the Event’s extensive operations made it paramount to partner with an insurer of the highest calibre.
