Mulder Shipyard in the Netherlands completed the new Mulder 73Fly bridge in late November 2012. The yacht was commissioned in 2010 bya client in Australia who chose Mulder Shipyard for its extensive experience in aluminium and steel yachtbuilding. The owner was closely involved with the build during the final four weeks of construction, and the yacht was delivered to him after several sea trials on the North Sea.
After delivery, the yacht was christened at the yard as Boonooroo II. The enthusiastic owner then headed to Antwerp where Boonooroo II was loaded onto a vessel from Sevenstar Yacht Transport. In mid-December, the carrier set course for Brisbane, where the yacht returned to the water in mid-January. The owner has already started using Boonooroo II from his home berth in his marina in Brisbane.
The yacht has a total length of 22.30m overall and a beam of 6.20m. With two Caterpillar C18 engines offering a capacity of 1150hp each, Boonooroo II has a maximum speed of approximately 22 knots. The fuel tank has a capacity of 12,000 litres, giving the yacht a range of around3,500 nm at ten knots.
The spacious flybridge houses a large jet-propelled tender and a smaller dinghy with outboard engine. A comfortable U-shaped seating area on the port side seats eight. The flybridge is also equipped with a bar with grill, refrigerator and sink. The large fixed bimini has lots of window space while also offering plenty of shade in sunny conditions.
The interior of Boonooroo II includes a spacious full-beam owner’s suite, VIP suite and guest cabin; each with its own shower and toilet. The yacht also features a spacious crew area aft for two or three crew members plus a large worktop and plenty of working space. The crew accommodations can be reached from the swim platform and via an internal st irway from the saloon.
The saloon features a luxurious L-shaped sofa and three armchairs. Due to the large windows in the superstructure, this area has an exceptionally open and spacious feel. The galley is equipped with all the appliances one would expect on a yacht of this class, and has direct access to the dining area. The entire interior has a classic ambience with a teak finish and wengé details.
