Cat & Go La Rochelle: François Morvan takes the helm

by Quentin Mayerat

It’s the start of a new era for the Fountaine Pajot et Dufour dealer based in the port of Les Minimes. Swiss-born Philippe Merceron has handed over the reins of his company to a well-known regatta sailor on Lake Geneva, with a view to spending his retirement traveling by boat. Frenchman François Morvan took over as head of the company last September. In his early forties, his nautical CV commands respect. Among other things, he has three victories in the Bol d’Or Mirabaud, a round-the-world race with Spindrift in 2017, numerous victories with Realteam and Sails of Change 8 in TF35, two seasons in SailGP with Team France and one with Team Switzerland. It’s only a short step from the top level to yachting. Specializing in the sale of boats over 50 feet, Cat & Go’s Atlantic coast location offers a number of significant advantages: “Buying a Dufour or a Fountaine Pajot in La Rochelle is ideal, as we’re located right outside the factory. This means we can really fine-tune the boat, thanks in particular to our technical facilities dedicated to yachting, which are the largest in France”, explains François Morvan. What’s more, La Rochelle is just 1h40 from Bordeaux and Nantes airports, and can be easily reached from Switzerland. A good reason to plan a visit or a trial run at the Port des Minimes?
