It was a momentous occasion in the history of Swiss involvement in SailGP. At Portsmouth, the Switzerland SailGP Team competed in its first Grand Prix Final. A well-deserved second place after more than three years of effort to reach the level of the world’s best sailors. The final was contested against the team’s locals, Dylan Fletcher’s Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team, and Peter Burling’s Black Foils, a veritable scarecrow of world sailing. Having got off to the best possible start, the Swiss F50 was forced to retire due to hydraulic failure. SĂ©bastien Schneiter’s team thus claimed its first podium finish.
The architect of this success, strategist Maud Jayet, invites us to take part in a video chat here.
