Keeping up with the “big boys” is not easy – but it is extremely rewarding! At least that much can be said at the halfway point of the SailGP Switzerland season. After five of thirteen 2025 regattas, the Swiss team has clearly consolidated its midfield position: With a five-point lead over the Italians and ten points behind the French, SĂ©bastien Schneiter’s team is right in the mix. And they can even start dreaming of bigger things! SĂ©bastien Schneiter spoke about this topic to the readers of the Skippers newsletter yesterday morning (watch video).
Because once a position has been consolidated, the next goal is to improve it. And the Swiss SailGP participants have proven it: They can win. They have already achieved three victories in six Grand Prix races, as well as three further podium places. Now it’s time to keep at it. It could be possible to secure a place in the Grand Prix final – and why not even the top position?
You and we know that sailing is a fine art – and artistic ambitions should also embellish the helmet that SĂ©bastien Schneiter will wear at the Rolex Switzerland Sail Grand Prix on September 20 and 21, 2025: A competition will be held to decide who gets to design it. And speaking of the first Swiss GP in history: Tickets are available now!
