The season kicks off next weekend and the Figaro class is in the starting blocks: the Trophée Laura Vergne will take place in the Bay of Quiberon from April 11 to 15. This will be followed by the Spi Ouest France, the first French and European sailing event of the season, with 450 boats taking part. From April 20, the Transat Paprec (double-handed) will take place, sailing from Concarneau to Saint-Barthélémy in the Caribbean. In the summer, we can look forward to the Tour Voile, and in the fall to the Solitaire du Figaro. After all, this one-off class from Bénéteau, which, like the Mini 6.50, is a true field of experimentation, has produced almost all the big names in ocean racing!
Annaëlle Pattusch (CNV) will be the only Swiss woman on the starting line of the Transat Paprec, this innovative transatlantic regatta, which has been held in mixed doubles since 2023.
In view of the Tour Voile in the summer, the Centre d’entraînement à la régate will focus on the fleet races. The Trophée Laura Vergne and the Spi Ouest France are therefore very convenient for the Geneva team, which has been training in Brittany since the beginning of the year. Coastal races and large, 24-hour regattas are planned. A first opportunity to compete with the other participants in the coming season!
