Swiss Sailing League celebrates its tenth anniversary with its first French-speaking champion

by Pierre-Antoine Preti

The Swiss club sailing champions are Victor Casas, Romain Defferrard, Benjamin Delaloye and Romuald Hausser. The Club Nautique de Versoix (CNV) J/70 crew didn’t shine on home waters this weekend, finishing fifth in the event. However, the lead gained in the 2025 Swiss Sailing League (SSLA) season saw it leapfrog Simon Kaiser’s StĂ€fa Sailing Club team and Damian Suri’s Yacht Club Bielersee in the overall standings. The final of the Swiss Sailing Super League 2025 was held this weekend in changing weather conditions. By combining the Super and Challenge Leagues – 32 teams and almost 150 sailors – the CNV achieved a feat of organization: two race committees, two regatta courses and a double team of referees. Twenty-six club presidents turned up for the Presidents’ Regatta. In addition, a gala evening for two hundred people was held on Saturday evening to celebrate the organization’s tenth anniversary. The departure of Markus Blaesi, founding member and President Emeritus of the SSLA, was also celebrated to the bravos of the audience. “These ten years have given me, and many of you, far more than we expected,” said the tireless organizer in his speech.
