In its 2023 issue, the gastronomic guide “La Liste”, which sifts through 15,0000 restaurants worldwide and millions of online comments, ranks the ten best restaurants in the world below. Two are in Switzerland, six are close enough for a weekend, and six belong to the Grandes Tables du Monde, of which GMT Publishing is a partner.

N° 1 ex aequo (99.5): Frantzén, Stockholm (Sweden)
After its two Michelin stars in 2013, in 2018 it became the first Swedish restaurant to receive a third star, distinguishing itself by its wood-fired seafood cuisine.
N° 1 ex aequo (99.5): Guy Savoy*, Paris (France)
Guy Savoy, chef and owner of the eponymous restaurant, began his career in the kitchens of some of Paris’s most famous restaurants, before opening his first establishment in 1985.

N°4 ex aequo (99): Restaurant de l’Hôtel de Ville*, Crissier
Founded by Michelin-starred chef Frédy Girardet and subsequently managed by Philipp Rochat, the Olympic capital’s best restaurant continues its success under Franck Giovannini.

Particularly famous for its eponymous menu based on local produce, the restaurant also offers an exceptional wine and champagne list in a warm atmosphere. N°4 ex aequo (99): Martín Berasategui, Lasarte-Oria (Spain)
A champion of Basque cuisine, Michelin-starred chef Martín Berasategui’s gastronomic vision is a spiritual project guided by aromas and flavors.
N°4 ex aequo (99): Sushi Saito, Minato-Ku (Japan)
Opened in 2001 by chef Takashi Saito, this three-star Japanese restaurant is the Kilimanjaro of sushi, also appreciated for its intimate atmosphere.
N°10 (98.5): Da Vittorio*, Brusaporto (Italy)
With its three stars, this peninsular must-see, run by the Cerea brothers, stands for “Lombard tradition and creative genius”, often changing its menu to reflect fresh seasonal produce.
