3rd edition in Greece in spring 2024!
Acclaimed by all participants at the Skippers Cup held in Croatia in May 2022, the famous cruising race for Skippers readers looks forward to seeing them in Corfu from May 4 to 11, 2024.
All the ingredients that have made the event such a success since the first edition in the British Virgin Islands in 2011 are once again present: a one-design fleet of 10 comfortable, high-performance Sun Odyssees, supervised by a flagship power cat who sets the course with kindness, new stages and sailing areas to discover every day, convivial evenings offered by loyal sponsors during which crews enjoy the atmosphere, moments of relaxation in heavenly anchorages, and an unforgettable prize-giving evening. In terms of organization, the Skippers and Voile Evasion teams draw on Sunsail’s experience and local network to ensure that the week-long nautical rally takes place in optimal conditions, in their company. Everything is taken care of on site, so skippers and their crews can concentrate on the pleasure of sailing between the Greek islands.

Skippers Cup 2024 in Greece:
Departing from Corfu on a 10 Sun Odyssee 410, the classic itinerary takes you to the islands of Paxos and Anti Paxos, and the anchorages around Parga on the mainland.
The stages are short, the ports of call numerous and varied, totaling around 120 miles. You’ll start your cruise from pretty Marina Gouvia, just 15 minutes from Corfu town, with its waterfront and magnificent pastel-colored Venetian buildings.
The program is indicative and subject to change, depending on weather conditions.
DAY 1 (Saturday May 04): CORFU
Arrival in Grève and transfer to Sunsail’s Gouvia marina, handover of boats by 6pm, skippers’ briefing for the next day’s sailing (then every evening on the flagship) and TeamWork welcome evening. Night on board.
Day 2 (Sunday, May 05): MOURTOS
Regatta along the coast to Benitse, then sail to Mourtos, a peaceful mainland Greek village perched high in the hills. Dinner at the restaurant provided by Skippers.
Day 3 (Monday, May 06): ANTIPAXOS
Regatta to Voutoumi and anchorage, skippers’ briefing. Voile Evasion cocktail on the Power Cat Leopard.
Day 4 (Tuesday, May 07) – PAXOS & GAIOS

Between Lakka and the small port of Gaios, the coast is indented with small bays, lined with pebble beaches plunging into crystal-clear water. In the morning, before the breeze picks up, you can walk along the west coast of the island, filled with impressive underwater caves carved into the cliffs. Overnight in GIAOS or LAKKA or PARGA (on the mainland). Evening free.
Day 5 (Wednesday, May 08): PLATERIA
Leaving early stop PARKA , visit the town ? Leave Lakka for a crossing to the mainland on blue waters to Parga, a pretty little village nestled at the foot of an ancient Venetian citadel in the eastern bay of Ormos Valou. The castle dates back to the 14th century, offering protection to Venetian merchants of the time. In the evening, the town is alive with the sounds of music bars, tavernas and kafeinon (coffee shops).
Regatta: you’ll sail north along the verdant Greek coast towards the rugged Sivotta islands. Surrounded by three islands (Nisis Ay Nikolaos, Nisis Sivota and Nisis Siv Mavros Notos) and just a short hop north from Sivota Mourtas to Plataria, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the Corfu coastline, as well as the Greek mainland. After a long breakwater, you’ll arrive at a lively harbor with a multitude of cafés and tavernas. Evening at the restaurant courtesy of our watch sponsor.
Day 6 (Thursday, May 09): MANDRAKI or GARITSA BAY
Regatta or sail in the morning, then head for the small port of Petriti and its tavernas, to sample delicious freshly caught fish. Regatta or sailing to the evening anchorage at Mandraki or Garitsa Bay, near Corfu’s old fortress. Evening at leisure.
