After almost twenty years of loyal service, the Swiss Rating System website is undergoing a major overhaul. It should be fully operational by the time of the Bol d’Or du Lac Léman, the ultimate spring challenge for ACVL specialists. The site is being transferred to a new, more modern platform, and the SRS gauges are being reactivated in a new environment. According to ACVL President Yorick Klipfel: “The SRS website is adapting to the times and bringing itself into line with modern database systems.” From now on, there will no longer be a password, but a direct access link on the requester’s email. The switchover to the new site will enable the purging of dormant accounts, i.e. those that have not been reactivated for more than ten years (2014). The data will be hosted on a highly secure site. They will remain covered by the Data Protection Act. The technical parameters of the boats remain unchanged. To ensure visibility for owners, the new SRS site allows up to three photos of the boat to be saved. The interface with Manage2Sail software remains unchanged for regatta registration.
