Among the many world premieres unveiled at the Boot in DĂŒsseldorf, there was a very elegant day boat of Dutch origin that would be perfect for lake programs. We couldn’t resist presenting it to you in detail, and on video!
With the SE 28 Leopard, Saffier promises to succeed in a subtle exercise: to offer a yacht capable of offering performance and sensations while remaining a very chic weekender. This new model embodies the spirit of the Dutch brand, whose core concept is to combine comfort, style and performance.
At first glance, the tone is set. The completely redesigned hull – inverted bow, wide, buoyant stern, modern appendages – hints at lively acceleration and healthy, balanced behavior in all conditions. The cockpit, designed for single-handed sailing, allows you to control virtually everything from the helm station, leaving the bench seats, sheltered by an elegant windshield, virtually free to maneuver. In its Racing version, with its carbon mast and 3Di sails by North Sails, the SE 28 Leopard promises on paper a clearly sporty, precise and playful temperament, ready to do battle on the water. Will we find her at the start of an upcoming solo classic, such as the TranslĂ©manique? He’d fit right in, despite his soaring rating!
But there’s more to the SE 28 Leopard than performance. With sails down, it reveals a resolutely lifestyle face. The taut lines and low roof assert a contemporary elegance, while the relatively spacious cockpit for a 28-footer invites you to relax on the large sundeck aft of the helm station, or to enjoy an aperitif on the comfortable bench seating. Below deck, the atmosphere is bright and surprisingly generous, despite the necessarily limited headroom: forward cabin with double berth, two additional berths, small galley and even an optional shower room. Enough to extend the pleasure over several days, without compromise.
Fully customizable, with tiller or double wheel steering, three keel versions, Comfort or Racing packages , electric or diesel engines for easy maneuvering thanks to a rotating base – a first on a sailboat… the Saffier SE 28 Leopard can be shaped according to the owner’s desires.
