Saxdor 400 GTC: the HPI crossover

by Philippe Leblond

If it isn’t, the new Saxdor bears a striking resemblance to an engineering boat. A real Rubik’s Cube, served up by a trendy design with a slightly inverted bow, as if dressed in the metal of its anchor, and a generously glazed superstructure. The Finnish shipyard’s designers have played to the maximum with the notion of exterior/interior, equipping the 400 GTC with a multitude of openings: side windows, large aft skylight, hull glazing, electric roof… And let’s not forget the fold-down bulwarks, transforming the aft cockpit, with its island sunbathing area, into a vast terrace flush with the waves… The kitchenette is split in two, between the cockpit and the interior saloon-dining room, in front of which sits a superb three-seater helm station. Another convivial area is the saloon in the bow, which converts into a second solarium. Inside, two double cabins with independent access (privacy guaranteed), plus a children’s berth, share a bathroom. The sharp, double-ribbed hull should approach 50 knots with two 400 hp Mercury V10 engines.
