This new member of the Merry Fisher family is yet another milestone in the spectacular evolution of the “fishing cruiser”. Of course, the fishing identity is still present, with an aft cockpit featuring a short deckhouse, removable table and bench seat, and gates for easy retrieval of catches. But this imposing unit makes the most of its volume to enhance crew comfort, whether for day trips or short cruises. There are two dining areas, one outside, the other inside, and a kitchenette behind the helm station. The foredeck, accessible via two asymmetrical gangways (the starboard one being wider) and secured by a high rail, offers a very comfortable sunbathing area. For family cruising, the lower deck offers a nice surprise: two double-berth cabins and a shower room. The hull’s long windows let in natural light, dispelling the impression of confinement. The 895 Sport Series 2 is also a high-performance twin-engine boat, capable of cruising at 30 knots.
