The Aventura shipyard exclusively offers sailing and motor catamarans. These multihulls are built in Tunisia and are the answer to the growing demand for sensible boats. The Aventura 37 Explorer motor catamaran is the world premiere of the shipyard’s latest model.
A trawler to sail far
The Aventura 37 Explorer is directly derived from the manufacturer’s sailing version, of which more than 80 were produced. The equipment is identical between the trawler and the sailing version and there are three or four cabins with one bathroom per hull. The three-cabin version offers the owner the opportunity to use the entire starboard hull for his personal comfort, with an office corner, a dressing room and a beautiful bathroom with separate shower. The tour of the Explorer begins with a large outside cockpit, where there is a nice table that seats up to eight people. Not bad for a 37-foot boat!
The interior, which like the entire product range was designed by Samer Lasta, is comfortable and ergonomic.
A revised keel
The basis of the Explorer remains the Aventura 37 sail, but the hull has been reworked in the aft quarter and lengthened by 60 cm to support the weight of the new engines (2 x 59.80 or 110 hp), which are always equipped with saildrives.
The goal for a trawler is not gross power or top speed, but a maximum range at a speed of between 8 and 12 knots. At this speed, the engines run at low revs and are particularly efficient.
The Aventura 37 Explorer is available with flybridge or sedan. The latter version (with three cabins and 2 x 59 hp) will be on display at the trade fair.
