A home steeped in history
Château de Bonport in Tresserve was built in the 16th century, in 1584 to be precise, on the foundations of Humbert de Seyssel’s residence, traces of which date back to the mid-14th century. It passed through the centuries in the hands of noble families before being transformed into an inn in 1809 by François Magnin, a wealthy native of Aix-les-Bains, who organized sumptuous dinners and country parties there. “Even back then, the Château was a popular place for walks,” recounts Nicolas Tournier, the man behind the renaissance of Château de Tresserve.
The hotelier, who also owns Hôtel Le Lana in Courchevel, has forged a special bond with the place. He grew up in the château. So when he bought the house, he had more than just a business project in mind: he wanted to restore the house of his childhood to its former glory, while respecting its history. It took four years of work to revive the building, which had been partially destroyed by fire in 2008. Since summer 2021, Château de Tresserve has reopened its doors. It is a fully equipped venue for a wide range of private and professional events.

Finally, on the upper floor, five bedrooms are available, including a lake-view suite with en-suite bathroom and hammam shower.
