Less frequented than the north, the south of Sardinia nevertheless conceals many treasures. Starting out from Cagliari, you’ll find the splendid bay of Poetto and its long sandy beach. To the east, the pretty peninsula of Villasimius offers good protection and lovely walks on land towards the lighthouse. Sailing south, you’ll discover Sardinia’s wildest coastline, with the imposing Cape Spartivento, “the one that cuts the winds”, before heading for the splendid beach of Teulada. San Pietro Island and its Carloforte port are also well worth a visit. Here, time seems to stand still, and you’ll find some excellent typical restaurants.
