New model and new plant for YOT

by Louis Taurel

The youngest member of the Catana group, the Yot brand, launched in September 2023 in Cannes, is expanding its range with the announcement of the YOT 53. The first 3D sketches available at the time this magazine went to press reveal a decidedly less sporty design, focused on comfort and cruising. Some of the design cues of the Bali and Catana brands can also be seen, such as the tilt-and-turn door that unites the saloon and nacelle interior spaces. Launch scheduled for 2026. Cruising speed will be between 15 and 18 knots, with peak speeds of 23 knots. Engine options range from 2 x 440 hp to two x 550 hp. Efficient, classic and solid, the transmission will be shaft-driven. To handle the construction of this new model, as well as the two others already in the catalog, the Catana Group has built a state-of-the-art 65,000 m2 factory in Aveiro (south of Porto). This is the Group’s first of its kind to be entirely dedicated to motorboat production. It took just 19 months to bring this production site on stream, and once it reaches cruising speed, it will be able to produce 200 boats a year thanks to some 400 employees.
