Miami Show: the great American show

by Jean-Christophe Guillaumin

With close to 1,000 boats on display, over 1,000 brands represented, 100,000 visitors expected, and economic spin-offs estimated at close to one billion dollars, the Miami Boat Show confirms, year after year, its status as the world’s leading yachting event. A veritable showcase for the international yachting industry, it is a must for builders and yachtsmen alike, in search of the major trends to come.

The 2026 edition will take place from February 11 to 15, and marks a notable evolution in its geographical organization. Yachts make their return to Collins Avenue as part of the Miami Beach Yacht Collection, while a new area dedicated to sailing, called Sailor’s Cove, is created at the IGY Yacht Haven Grande. Visitors will also find the historic areas of the Convention Center and Pride Park, which continue to host a large number of exhibitors.

This edition will be particularly rich in world premieres. Here are those that the editors of Skippers advise you not to miss: Aquila, until now recognized as one of the world leaders in motor catamarans, will unveil its very first sailing catamaran. This 50-foot multihull emphasizes innovation and on-board space, marking an important step in the manufacturer’s diversification. Aquila will also present to the public for the first time the Aquila 45 Sport, a performance-oriented motor catamaran powered by two 600 hp Mercury Verado V12 engines and capable of exceeding 45 knots.

In the sailing multihull segment , the South-African shipyard Balance will present the brand-new Balance 502, a model that boasts both performance under sail and a high level of comfort on board. On the powerboat side, Grady-White will be exhibiting the 321 Coastal Explorer, the largest model in this range, designed for versatile use between coastal sailing, family outings and offshore fishing.

The Miami boat show will also provide an opportunity to discover several new models in the luxury yachting segment. The Australian shipyard Riviera will present the 5600 Sport Yacht in its Platinum Edition version, specially optimized for the American market with top-of-the-range finishes. Veya Yachts will be making its entry into the luxury yacht segment with the Veya 53, a model featuring sleek design and cutting-edge technology. On the sportier side, Sƍlace will complete its range of center consoles with the 35CS, positioned between the 32CS and 37CS models, with particular attention paid to comfort and stability.

The American public will also be able to discover the Prestige M7 for the first time on their continent, the new flagship of the M-Line line dedicated to motor catamarans. This model stands out for its wide beam and enhanced stability, setting new standards for habitability in this segment. Other U.S. premieres include the Highfield ADV9 Weekender, a luxury RIB with a cabin that sleeps four, private head and deck galley, and the Sanlorenzo SX100 and SL86 Asymmetric, presented as strategic models for the Italian shipyard in the American superyachting market. The Bluegame BGM75 completes this panorama with an atypical approach to the motor catamaran, described as a “twin-hull motoryacht”, distinguished by its original architecture and remarkable efficiency.

In addition to these novelties, all the world’s major manufacturers will be present in Miami, with a broad representation of their respective ranges. Under the Florida sun, the Miami Boat Show is once again a showcase for the world’s yachts, from mass-produced units to the most exclusive, confirming its role as a barometer of the international marine industry.
