ZSC: New club bus

In mid-October, the Zurich Sailing Club (ZSC) received its long-awaited club bus. The nine-seater Citroen Space Tourer will primarily be used by the Youth Team and has already been put to use at the ILCA PM in StÀfa. The benches can be folded up quickly and without tools so that goods can be transported instead of people. With a towing capacity of no less than 3.5 tons, it can pull the dinghy trailer and even move the ZSC starter ship Falbala effortlessly on the road. The purchase was made possible by the generous support of the Emil Frey Group and Citroën Switzerland. z-s-c.ch/

Lake Lucerne Cup: good participation

Many yachts took part in the Lake Lucerne Cup throughout the season, including the final BĂŒrgenstock Race. The high participation is probably due to the new classification and handicap calculation system. The new formula is simpler, fairer and makes it unnecessary to measure the boats, which greatly simplifies the inclusion of new boats in the categories. Thanks to his victory in the last regatta, Alexander Seiler from Regattaverein Brunnen won the annual ranking of the Lake Lucerne Cup in Racer Class 1 for the first time thanks to his victory in the last regatta. Last year’s winner Pascal Marty had to retire due to a broken mast. vierwaldstaettersee-cup.ch

Two races were held after all, and the overall standings were finally decided. With 13 points and an impressive dominance, S2 Immobilien Promotion from Segelclub MĂ€nnedorf took the annual victory, followed by clubmates Team Werubau and Azzurra from Segelclub StĂ€fa, who made it back onto the podium for the first time since 2021. Team Silvia from Regattaverein Brunnen missed out on 3rd place by a hair’s breadth. compasscup.ch

With the purchase of its own J70, the Yacht Club Lucerne is putting a central point of its 2025 mission statement “a breath of fresh air” into practice: the promotion of young sailors. The new club boat, which will replace or supplement the J70 previously rented from Sailcom, will create significantly better and more flexible training opportunities. These were immediately put to intensive use by the established league team as well as the successful ladies and the enthusiastic youth team. The dedicated J70 now makes it possible to anchor league sailing more broadly in the club and introduce new talent to it in a targeted manner. A big step for the future of sailing in Lucerne.ycl.ch/
