Les Voiles d’Yvoire: a new prestige event on the French coast

by Quentin Mayerat

In mid-October, for the second year running, Les Voiles d’Yvoire once again offered a splendid gathering of boats. With the Olympic theme in mind, this second edition included several classes represented at the Olympic Games, including Star, 8mJI, 6mJI, 6.5m SI and Godinet boats. Only a few light airs punctuated this event, but fortunately they did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm for this event, which is set to become a must-attend event at the end of the season. The legendary 8mJI Taifun – whose image illustrates this brief – won the Legends category against Daniel Charles’s 30m Swedish Cigogne and Philippe Raphoz’s 3-barrel Calypso. Les Voiles d’Yvoire looks forward to seeing you in autumn 2025!
