In Versoix, Ylliam 17 held on until the very end. After eight races sailed on Friday and Saturday in a 7- to 10-knot SĂ©chard breeze, Julien Firmenichâs crew headed into Sunday with a one-point lead over Ylliam XII â Comptoir Immobilier. A single ninth race, started at 3:45 p.m. in 6-knot winds and later shortened, decided the Grand Prix: ZEN Too took the win ahead of Sails of Change 8 and Ylliam 17, which finished thirdâfar enough ahead of its direct rival to win with 17 points to 20.
Once again, this regatta in Versoix demonstrated the exceptional potential of the TF35, a boat capable of âflyingâ in winds as low as 7 knotsâŠ
Ahead of the Geneva finals, which will take place October 2â4, Sails of Change 8 leads with 10 points, ahead of ZEN Too (11), Realteam Spirit (13), Ylliam 17 (14), Ylliam XII (15), X-WING, and Sails of Change 10 (16). The final is shaping up to be epicâŠ
