The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA) has dedicated the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend to sport in a bid to welcome everyone to try not only waters sports, but also the multitude of adventure sports available on the 2012 sailing venue’s doorstep.
‘Sail Fest’ will run for the first time this year from the 23rd to 26th of August, visitors to the Academy can try a new sport, join in coaching sessions, compete alongside 100 plus dinghies in the WPNSA Regatta and enjoy the Saturday evening hog roast with guest speaker, new Chief Executive of the WPNSA, Peter Allam.
Peter, an Olympic medallist himself, is keen to entice a larger audience to understand the benefits of using the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy and the multi-sport offering that this globally recognised venue has to offer sports enthusiasts of all ages.
“The aim is for everyone in the family to participate and for a nominal fee experience a new sport at the WPNSA. The taster courses, on offer in conjunction with our onsite partners this coming weekend, are an ideal opportunity to try a new hobby at low cost in a safe and fun environment”.
Academy visitors will be able to try their hand at windsurfing, dinghy sailing, paddle boarding as well as rock climbing and mountain biking.
