L’équipe romande Realteam participera dès jeudi à la dernière étape des Extreme Sailing Series à Florianópolis, au Brésil. Avec Arnaud Psarofaghis à la barre pour l’occasion, l’équipe teste une nouvelle configuration d’équipage en vue de la saison prochaine.
Florianópolis, Brésil, le 12 novembre 2013 – Realteam participera du 14 au 17 novembre prochains au huitième et dernier Act des Extreme Sailing Series à Florianópolis, au Brésil. Initialement prévu à Rio de Janeiro, l’organisation a finalement opté pour Florianópolis pour la sécurité de l’événement.
A la veille de la dernière régate de l’année, Realteam pointe à la cinquième place du classement général. Le podium est encore accessible pour l’équipe romande, un excellent résultat pour leur première année dans le circuit. « C’est une année de transition pour nous », confie Arnaud Psarofaghis, qui prendra la barre du catamaran pour l’occasion. «L’équipe a essayé plusieurs configurations d’équipage durant la saison, afin de déterminer la meilleure équipe pour la saison prochaine. Je me réjouis de barrer l’Extreme 40 – un bateau que je n’ai jamais barré, malgré mes trois saisons à la barre de multicoques. »
Realteam s’est classé troisième du Vulcain Trophy cette saison en Décision 35, et navigue aux avant-postes dans le circuit professionnel des Extreme Sailing Series. Une saison de transition brillante, que l’équipe espère terminer en entrant dans le TOP 4 des Extreme Sailing Series. Verdict le 17 novembre.

Switzerland’s Realteam starts the final Act of the Extreme Sailing Series on Thursday in Florianopolis, Brasil, with Arnaud Psarofaghis helming. The team continues its policy of crew rotation and is looking forward to trying this new configuration with a view to next year’s campaign.
Florianopolis, Brasil, 12 November 2013 – Realteam is gearing up to race the final Act of the Extreme Sailing Series season due to kick off in Florianopolis in Brasil on Thursday. Originally planned in Rio, the race organisation opted for Florianopolis for safety reasons.
Realteam is lying fifth overall going into the final event, but the podium is still within their grasp – not bad for their first year on the circuit! “2013 has been a year of transition for us,” explained Arnaud Psarofaghis who is taking the helm for the last event. “We have rotated the crew throughout the season to build the strongest one for next year. I am delighted to be given an opportunity to helm an Extreme 40, this will be my first time although I have helmed other types of multihull for the last three years.”
Realteam finished third overall on the Vulcain Trophy Decision 35 circuit and has been racing at the front of the Extreme Sailing Series professional fleet. A good transitional year, which the team hopes will culminate in a top 4 result at the Extremes. We will find out on the 17 November!
