The AY 60, unveiled as a world premiere at the Salon International du Multicoque in La Grande-Motte, is turning heads on the pontoons. Built in Thailand, this 18.40 m motor catamaran from Adventure Yachts offers an ambitious program for lovers of long journeys aboard a unit that is flattering in terms of equipment, range and endurance.
The positioning is clear. At just 18.5 tons, an advertised top speed of 18 knots, 14 knots at cruising speed and, above all, a range of 2,800 miles at 8 knots, the AY 60 attempts to combine the comfort of a top-of-the-range vessel with a genuine long-range program. To achieve this, the shipyard has equipped the catamaran with 8 kWp solar panels and a 1,800 Ah 48-volt battery. The boat is available in the “Sport” version, which was exhibited in La Grande-Motte, and in a “Flybridge” version.
During our visit, Adventure Yachts emphasized above all the versatility of use. Hull 1 is designed for crewed charter, with a forward beach club with an electric staircase to enjoy the pleasures of anchoring, while other configurations are geared towards owners or offshore sailors. With four cabins, two berths for crew and meticulous construction by true Thai craftsmen, the AY 60 is a remarkable new addition to the motorized multihull market.
